Five centuries of painting — Mauritshuis 1816–1966 jubilee

Ten Vermeers hung in The Hague for the Mauritshuis's 150th anniversary, two of them then still in private hands (the Wrightsman Study of a Young Woman and the Havemeyer A Lady Writing). Promoted by André Malraux as French Minister of Culture. Curated by A.B. de Vries with René Huyghe; catalogue authored by a young Albert Blankert.
