Vermeer Visits

Website
A rare pairing of two intimately related Vermeer interiors in Room 38 of the Milltown Wing. Mistress and Maid (ca. 1666–67) travelled from the Frick Collection, New York — one of its most prized holdings, and rarely seen outside the city — while the Frick itself underwent renovation. It was shown alongside the National Gallery of Ireland’s own Woman Writing a Letter, with her Maid. The exhibition was curated by Dr Lizzie Marx, Curator of Dutch and Flemish Art, and was free to attend.
