Rembrandt, Vermeer and the Dutch Golden Age

Louvre Abu Dhabi presented The Leiden Collection alongside loans from the Musée du Louvre. Its two Vermeers — the Leiden Collection's Young Woman Seated at a Virginal and the Louvre's The Lacemaker — were shown side by side for the first time, following the discovery that both were painted on canvas cut from the same bolt. (The Louvre's Astronomer was resident at Louvre Abu Dhabi at the time but was not part of this exhibition.)
