Toledo Museum of Art

Toledo, United States

The Toledo Museum of Art is an art museum in Toledo, Ohio, founded in 1901 by the glassmaker Edward Drummond Libbey and his wife, Florence Scott Libbey. Its neoclassical main building, designed by Edward Green and opened in 1912, sits in the city's Old West End and has been expanded several times.

The collection spans ancient to contemporary art, including European and American painting, sculpture, decorative arts and works on paper. Reflecting Toledo's history as a centre of glassmaking, the museum is especially renowned for its glass collection, housed since 2006 in the Glass Pavilion designed by the firm SANAA.
