Osaka, Japan

The Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts is a municipal art museum in Osaka, Japan, opened in 1936 in Tennoji Park on grounds formerly belonging to the Sumitomo family, who donated the land to the city. The museum is set beside the historic Keitakuen garden in the southern part of the park.

Its collection centres on East Asian art, with notable holdings of Japanese and Chinese painting, calligraphy, sculpture and decorative arts, ranging from ancient and classical works to later periods, and the museum also hosts major temporary exhibitions.
