Nakanoshima Museum of Art

The Nakanoshima Museum of Art is a municipal art museum on Nakanoshima island in central Osaka, Japan. After a long period of planning, it opened in 2022 in a distinctive black cubic building designed by the architect Yuko Nagayama, with a public passage cutting diagonally through its interior.

The museum's collection focuses on modern and contemporary art, with particular strengths in Japanese and Western works of the twentieth century, much of it built up by the city of Osaka over several decades before the building was completed.
