Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel
Kassel, Germany
The Museumslandschaft Hessen Kassel (often abbreviated MHK) is a public body that administers a group of museums, palaces and historic gardens in and around Kassel, Germany. Among the institutions it oversees is the Old Masters picture gallery housed at Schloss Wilhelmshöhe, together with the surrounding Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Its collections are noted for seventeenth-century Dutch and Flemish painting, including an important group of works by Rembrandt and his circle, alongside antiquities, prints and decorative arts drawn from the former holdings of the Landgraves of Hesse-Kassel.
