Museum of Islamic Art

Doha, Qatar

The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) in Doha, Qatar, opened in 2008 in a landmark building designed by the architect I. M. Pei, set on its own island off the city's Corniche. The geometric, limestone-clad structure was among Pei's last major commissions.

The museum holds one of the world's most comprehensive collections of Islamic art, with objects in metal, ceramic, glass, textile, wood, and manuscript form spanning some thirteen centuries and drawn from across three continents.
