Montreal Museum of Fine Arts
Montreal, Canada
The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal) is the largest art museum in Canada by some measures and one of the country's oldest, with roots in the Art Association of Montreal founded in 1860. It spans several connected pavilions along Sherbrooke Street, including the neoclassical Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion.
Its encyclopedic collection ranges from antiquities and Old Master paintings to Canadian art, decorative arts and contemporary work, complemented by an active programme of international loan exhibitions.
