Long Museum West Bund

Shanghai, China

The Long Museum is a private art museum in Shanghai, China, founded by the collectors Liu Yiqian and Wang Wei. Its West Bund location, opened in 2014 in the Xuhui district along the Huangpu River, was designed by the firm Atelier Deshaus and is distinguished by its cantilevered, vault-like concrete structures built around the remains of a former coal transport wharf.

The museum's collection ranges from traditional Chinese art and revolutionary-era works to modern and contemporary Chinese and international art, and it stages large-scale temporary exhibitions alongside displays from its permanent holdings.
