Kunsthaus Zürich

Zürich, Switzerland

The Kunsthaus Zürich is the principal art museum of Zürich, Switzerland, and one of the most important art collections in the country. Run by the Zürcher Kunstgesellschaft, its original building opened in 1910 to a design by Karl Moser, and the museum has since been expanded several times, most recently with a large extension by David Chipperfield that opened in 2021.

Its holdings span from the Middle Ages to the present and are particularly strong in modern art, including major groups of works by Edvard Munch, Alberto Giacometti and the Dada and Surrealist movements, alongside Swiss masters such as Ferdinand Hodler.
