Grand Palais
Paris, France
The Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées, commonly known as the Grand Palais, is a large exhibition hall and museum complex on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, France. It was built for the Universal Exposition of 1900 in a Beaux-Arts style, and is celebrated for its vast glass and iron-vaulted nave, one of the largest such structures in the world.
Rather than a permanent collection, the Grand Palais is renowned as a venue for major temporary art exhibitions, trade fairs, and cultural events. Its galleries, including the Galeries nationales, have hosted landmark retrospectives, and the building underwent extensive restoration in the twenty-first century.
