Duveen Brothers

Duveen Brothers was one of the most influential art dealerships of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, with premises in London, Paris and New York. The firm rose to prominence under Joseph Duveen, later Lord Duveen, who specialised in moving Old Master paintings and European decorative arts from established European collections to wealthy American industrialists and collectors.

Through these dealings the firm helped shape many of the great American art collections of the period, and a number of works it handled now hang in major museums across the United States.
