Chrysler Museum of Art

Norfolk, United States

The Chrysler Museum of Art is an art museum in Norfolk, Virginia. Its collection traces its origins to the early twentieth century, and the institution was transformed after the industrialist and collector Walter P. Chrysler Jr. gave much of his extensive personal art collection to the museum, which was renamed in his honor in 1971.

The museum holds works spanning ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome through European and American painting and sculpture, and it is especially noted for its glass collection, which numbers thousands of objects and includes a dedicated studio for glassmaking. Admission to the museum is free.
