China Art Museum (China Art Palace)

The China Art Museum, also known as the China Art Palace, is a major art museum in the Pudong district of Shanghai, China. It opened in 2012 in the building that had served as the China Pavilion for Expo 2010, an inverted red pyramidal structure inspired by traditional Chinese architecture that remains one of the city's most recognisable landmarks.

It is among the largest art museums in Asia, with extensive exhibition space devoted chiefly to modern and contemporary Chinese art. Its holdings emphasise the development of Chinese art since the early twentieth century, and the museum stages temporary exhibitions drawn from its own collection and from loans.
