Arti et Amicitiae

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Arti et Amicitiae is an artists' society in Amsterdam, Netherlands, founded in 1839 to support artists, maintain a social network and provide a pension fund after the dissolution of the Dutch painters' guilds. Its building on the Rokin was completed in 1855 to a neoclassical design by J. H. Leliman, its facade carrying allegorical figures of architecture, sculpture, painting and engraving.

The society remains a hub of the Amsterdam art scene, with several hundred artist members and a larger body of patrons, and has held exhibitions of work by figures including Vincent van Gogh and Marc Chagall.
